With rapid population growth and industrialization in Pune, an increasing amount of untreated wastewater was discharged into the Mula-Mutha River due to the lack of sewage collection and treatment capacity. NJS Engineers was retained to oversee the design and construction of a new sewer system. Since it would be monitored and controlled via a SCADA system, they had to develop a centralized database of all assets that also incorporated existing works.

NJS Engineers determined that they could review proposed designs and develop a management database with Bentley applications. They first reviewed submitted designs with OpenFlows SewerGEMS to determine the best options and help guide the construction process. They then incorporated all elements into an online-accessible database that will be used for continued operations. In the process, they saved resource hours and reduced costs.
