After the slope of a highway area rest stop in Moongyeong collapsed due to an extended rainy season, the project team at Geospatial Information needed to obtain time-lapsed video footage and create 3D models to obtain the current landslide situation and monitor on site restoration works to aid construction. They tried using third-party software to generate 3D meshes, but the results lacked accuracy and visibility.
Geospatial Information selected ContextCapture to generate accurate reality meshes of the real landslide conditions and damage restoration works to effectively guide the construction process. Using the 3D models, they effectively planned on-site construction and improved decision-making. The models can be used for similar restoration works in the future.
