A project in northeast South Korea required SISTECH to create a realistic digital twin of the mountain areas of Daegwallyeong to understand current forest resources and mitigate disaster-related damages. It presented challenging topography requiring an integrated digital solution to capture area site data and generate a 3D reality mesh.
The project team selected ContextCapture to process high-altitude, 10-centimeter resolution imaging from drones into a 3D reality model. Using Bentley’s application, SISTECH generated a digital twin map that accurately reflects the topography and elevation of the mountainous region. They can use the 3D model to analyze mountain roads and reservoirs, as well as to simulate flood and natural disaster conditions aimed at preventing disaster-related damage. The digital solution accelerates adaptation to geographical changes that may occur in the future, simplifying and streamlining management of the mountain area.
