Over the past eight years, Welspun Enterprises Ltd. (WEL) has conducted several projects for the National Highway Authority of India. When they began the USD 30 million Mubarka Chouk Panipat Road Project (MCPRP) in early 2020, however, they realized that previous manual ways of working would not be sufficient. They needed to deliver an 80-kilometer road within 15 months, requiring digitalized workflows and a single source of truth.
WEL chose Bentley applications to digitalize construction processes and create lookahead indicators by integrating hinderances to the schedule. They created paperless information flow from field data collection to invoicing, as well as automated dashboards and report generation. The solution has been rolled out to other projects, with WEL seeing USD 55 million of value billed and 40,000 inspection checklists raised and approved. They have trained 150 users and conducted about 125 meetings, which has helped reduce the billing cycle process for subcontractors by a week.
